Where is Science Alive! held?
Science Alive! is held at the Adelaide Showground, a five-minute drive out of Adelaide’s CBD, and easily accessible via public transport.
Where should I park?
There are multiple carparking spaces available at the Adelaide Showground, the closest of which is the North West Car Park, accessible via Rose Tce. Further information can be be found via the Adelaide Showground website.
Do I need to buy tickets for the stage shows?
No, all performances within Science Alive! are included in the price of your entry ticket. However, due to South Australia's current COVID regulations we will have hard theatre caps that we have to stick to, and so we are asking people to choose one show they wish to reserve a spot for when purchasing a ticket. You will be able to see more than one show on the day, provided we have seats available.
How can schools get involved?
Each year, Science Alive! holds a free event at the Adelaide Showground for schools and students from years 7-12. Schools must be registered to attend.
Who can attend the STEM Day Out?
The STEM Day Out is soley for years 7-12. For students below year 7, we encourage you to attend on the weekend.
Is the event a Children's University Learning Destination?
Yes, Science Alive! is officially a Children’s University accredited learning destination – be sure the visit the information booth in the Duncan Gallery to get it stamped off!
Can I purchase food and drinks at the event?
There will be food and drinks available at the Showground for purchase. There will be both Showground outlets, Vilis, the Jubilee Cafe, and food trucks with Mr Doughnuts and Boost Juice available.
Is a parents' room available?
There is a parenting room in the Atrium Plaza, which includes microwave, a breastfeeding area with privacy screen, and a change table.
Do people with companion cards receive discounted entry?
Yes, those with Companion Cards will receive free entry. This year we request that you stop at the ticket booth prior to entry to register your details, in accordance with SA Health's COVID tracing policies.
Are gluten free, diary free, vegetarian, vegan food options available?
Are kids free?
Yes, kids under 2 years old are free, and will not require an entry ticket.
Can I get tickets at the gate?
You can, however we strongly encourage you to book online, as South Australia's current COVID regulations mean that we will need to collect more information from you when purchasing a ticket. Purchasing tickets online ahead of time also gives you acess to our discounted ticket rates!
